
Johanna Sinkkonen (b. 1983, Turku, Finland) is a multidisciplinary visual artist and producer living and working in Turku. Sinkkonen works extensively in sculpture using various metals and textiles as materials, combining methods from community, spatial and media art.
Sinkkonen has spearheaded and contributed to numerous multidisciplinary projects across various art collectives, making a significant impact on her hometown art scene. Her work has been showcased at various festivals and exhibitions both in Finland and internationally. Her works are part of several collections, including the Turku City Art Collection.
Sinkkonen is particularly skilled in public art and community-driven, socially engaged art projects and she’s been honored with multiple awards in the realm of public art. Her commitment to community art and applied art stems from a deep interest in social impact and a desire to bring artistic processes into unconventional spaces.
In addition to her artistic work, Sinkkonen is the founder, concept designer, and producer of many projects that intersect public, environmental, and community art. She has also curated and produced a variety of art events throughout her career.
